I bought this for the price, as xylitol can be quite expensive, and this seemed reasonable. Now I see why it was cheaper.

I didn’t realize when I got it that it has silicon dioxide added. I’ve used two other brands of xylitol, and neither had anything added. I avoid any additives wherever possible in my diet, especially when I’m already having to use a substitute ingredient to start with.

Upon opening, this product does have a funky smell. Again, no others that I’ve used do, so I am unsure to what to attribute that. It tastes fine, and is definitely a more finely powdered crystal than others I’ve used.

It was my error in ordering, though I don’t think I will get this one, again. I don’t want anything added to it, and because it doesn’t indicate its source, it’s likely corn, anyway.

I’ve used many other products by Jarrow that were great, so this is disappointing.

This ia a natural, sweetener that does not cause the blood sugar to spike. I use it all the time and have no ill effects. Even though it is pricey it is way safer than other fake sugars out there.

That said, it is DEADLY poisonous to dogs. My dog got 1/4 of green smoothie made with Xylitol and we had to induce vomiting until she was retching air. Half a pack of Xylitol gum can kill a dog. So know that.

We have the top of ours marked DOG POISON, just as a reminder.

I like this and use it all the time.

Works well for the protocol I am doing with my Lyme Literate doctor. I would never say how much to use as that would be upon doctor recommendation but one thing I like to do is put in water with a little lemon squeezed in it – it tastes like lemonade! : )
