    Perfectly delicious!, July 17, 2016

I stumbled upon Xylitol on my quest to find a decent tasting sugar substitute. I have tried nearly everything else on the market, and all of them either tasted awful or ended up not being good for me after all (agave nectar, anyone?). I was pleasantly surprised by Xyitol. Not only does it taste wonderful, without any nasty aftertaste, (think sugar, only a tiny bit “lighter”), it is actually GOOD for my teeth and has some antimicrobial qualities! Thus far, I have used it in smoothies, hot drinks, iced drinks, and for baking. It has been perfect every time, with an equal cup for cup ratio to sugar.
I chose this particular brand of Xylitol above the plethora of others available because it is USA made (very important! We have different food manufacturing/processing standards than China!), and is made from birch, NOT GMO corn.
Other posters have mentioned that it gives them gastrointestinal upset if used in excess… I have Crohn’s disease, and have not had any trouble with this xylitol at all. Perhaps it is because it is not a corn product? I can only speculate. Everyone’s body is different, so I would suggest that one proceed with caution until you find out exactly how it affects you.
Overall, I would definitely reccomend this product to anyone looking to improve their health by cutting sugar, without totally sacrificing their sweet tooth!

This stuff is the best alternative to sugar. Tastes like sugar. No bitterness. None. Zero.
But, you must keep two things in mind.
1.) It is a sugar alcohol and can cause digestive distress in some folks, especially if you consume more than is recommended.
2.) It is EXTREMELY TOXIC TO DOGS, as in it could be deadly, so you MUST make sure not to share anything containing Xyitol with your four-footed friends.
That being said, it is also helpful in staving off cavities, and you can cook with it.

Non-imported xylitol derived from trees not corn., January 22, 2017

This one of only a few brands of xylitol that I would trust. For one, it’s made int he USA not important from Asian. It comes from birch (hardwood trees) not corn, so there’s no danger of it being or containing any gmo ingredients. Because of it’s antibacterial benefits, we use it when making our own toothpaste to give it a slight sweet taste.

While it can be used instead of sugar on a 1:1 ratio, I much prefer honey. However, it does taste the same as sugar but is better for you in controlling spikes in blood sugar.

Please be careful if you use it in cooking as it’s poisonous for our pets, particularly dogs. I only have cats, and thankfully they don’t like sweet things.

I plan to buy again. This is my second purchase of the same product in the same format: one pound bag in a thick, re-sealable ziplock pouch. Will last me a long time since we only use a few teaspoons in each batch of toothpaste.
